Entries due January 4th
Salisbury, MD — The Eastern Shore Literacy Association kicked off its annual Young Authors’ Contest this month. The two category contest calls for students in grades 2-12 to submit an original poem or short story. The highly competitive contest concludes with its entry deadline on January 4th.
“We are very excited about the energy we have received from young authors across the lower three counties last year and hope it continues this year,” Young Authors’ Contest Co-Chair Brian Cook explained. “Upon judging, the committee will send out finalist postcards to individuals who finished in the top three in their respective category and grade-level. Our goal is to make the writing contest the Grammy’s of writing for our students.”
Finalist postcards will be distributed at the ESLA’s January 17th meeting. More information about the award ceremony will be forthcoming. For questions relating to the contest email ESLAyoungauthors@gmail.com.
