Fall Membership Dinner Surpasses Expectations

    Eastern Shore Literacy Association members socialize and connect over dinner during its annual fall membership dinner at The Fountains Wedding and Conference Center.

Salisbury, Md. — It was an evening of camaraderie, networking, and expert advice as the Eastern Shore Literacy Association hosted its annual fall membership dinner at The Fountains Wedding & Conference Center. Kicking off the evening was keynote speaker Dr. Virginia Berninger, Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington, with her presentation “Handwriting – What’s the Big Deal?” Dr. Berninger is often touted as thee expert on handwriting with numerous publications and research grants funded relating to the topic over her decorated career in education.

Dr. Virginia Berninger, the evening’s keynote speaker, is being introduced to the audience.

“It was a great event to get together with some colleagues from other district that I do not normally see,” mentioned veteran member Chris Welch, Snow Hill Middle School Principal, stated. “Hearing what is working in their classrooms and getting great ideas is one of the best reasons to support local professional organizations.”

The membership dinner was sponsored by Zaner-Bloser, an educational-solutions company that specializes in delivering explicit instruction & a solid academic foundation for PreK–8 reading & language arts.
