Eastern Shore of Maryland — The Eastern Shore Reading Council (ESRC) begins the new year with supporting the annual World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) across all public and private schools as well as libraries and early learning centers on the lower three counties. It is the belief of the ESRC that everyone in the world should get to read and write. Every year, on WRAD, people all around the globe read aloud together and share stories to advocate for literacy as a human right that belongs to all people.
Anyone who supports literacy is being encouraged to create their own special one-on-one read aloud moment or a school-wide event using our resources offered by LitWorld. These resources include:
- Host a WRAD event
- Spread the word
- Stickers, Banners, Decorations for your Day!
- Connect with Authors via Skype in the Classroom
- Read Aloud Guide
Use #ShoreReads and#WorldReadAloudDay to share your ideas, plans, and pictures from the day on social media.
