ESLA Brings Joy of Reading to Salisbury’s 3rd Fridays

Salisbury, MD – June 21, 2024 – The Eastern Shore Literacy Association (ESLA) brought smiles to the faces of many children and families at this month’s Third Fridays event in downtown Salisbury. ESLa members handed out free books to eager readers of all ages, promoting literacy and a love of reading in the community. This initiative is part of ESLa’s ongoing efforts to enhance literacy rates and foster a lifelong passion for reading among the residents of Salisbury and surrounding areas.

ESLA President, Michelle Spencer, expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “It was incredibly fun and rewarding to see the joy on the children’s faces as they received their books. Events like these are at the heart of our mission to make reading accessible and enjoyable for everyone. We look forward to many more opportunities to connect with our community and inspire a love of reading.” The success of this event underscores the importance of community engagement in promoting literacy and highlights ESLA’s commitment to making a positive impact in Salisbury and the Lower Eastern Shore.”
