​Upcoming Literacy PD Series – May 31

The Maryland Initiative for Literacy & Equity (MILE) and the University of Maryland’s Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences are hosting a professional development series for educators on May 31, titled Transforming Your Literacy Practice. This 4-part hybrid speaker series will focus on evidence-based strategies for identifying and treating reading and writing impairments.

Session topics include:

  • Dyslexia: Early Identification & Phonemic Awareness
  • Equitable Access to Grade-Level Content
  • Metacognition & Literacy Instruction
  • Evidence-Based Literacy Approaches in Urban Districts

Registration:

  • In-person: $150 (includes breakfast & lunch)
  • Virtual: $100 (sessions not recorded)
  • Credits: 0.4 ASHA CEUs (pending) + 4 PDPs toward licensure
