The Eastern Shore Literacy Association is proud to support and share the exciting news from a fellow community partner, Fenix Youth Project Inc., as they announce the relaunch of the Salisbury Youth Poet Laureate Program!

This dynamic initiative offers a powerful platform for youth to express themselves through poetry while engaging in civic dialogue, political literacy, and community building. The program is designed to amplify the voices, ideas, and values of young people—especially those who are underrepresented and marginalized—through the literary arts.

Applications for the 2026 Salisbury Youth Poet Laureate are now open and will be accepted until November 24, 2025.
Eligible applicants must:

• Be a resident of Wicomico County
• Be under the age of 19 as of November 24, 2025
