
The Maryland Initiative for Literacy & Equity (MILE) and the University of Maryland’s Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences are hosting a professional development series for educators on May 31, titled Transforming Your Literacy Practice. This 4-part hybrid speaker series will focus on evidence-based strategies for identifying and treating reading and writing impairments.
Session topics include:
- Dyslexia: Early Identification & Phonemic Awareness
- Equitable Access to Grade-Level Content
- Metacognition & Literacy Instruction
- Evidence-Based Literacy Approaches in Urban Districts
